Solar Array Drive Mechanism Impact Test
The purpose of this test is to determine how much meteoroid and orbital debris
(MMOD) impact damage a spacecraft solar array drive mechanism can sustain and
still remain functional. MMOD impactors of several different sizes and densities
were shot at a mockup of the drive gearbox.
